Here you can see how some of the potions look and what they do:
MA potion restores stamina.
VI potion gives healing.
EE potion gives you mana to cast spells.
VEN potion contains poison. Throw it to get a poison cloud, but don't ever drink it.
BRO potion cures poison wounds.
YA potion creats a magical shield. More long-lived than the Magical shield spell, but works only for one person.
KU potion increases strength. This potion will also temporary increase this property beyond its normal.
ROS potion increases dexterity. This potion will also temporary increase this property beyond its normal.
DAIN potion increases wisdom. This potion will also temporary increase this property beyond its normal.
NETA potion increases viatity. This potion will also temporary increase this property beyond its normal.

And here are the effects of some spells:
Poison cloud inflicts some damage. Useful against worms.
Invisibility allows you to sneak unnoticed. Expires if you attack.
Lightning bolt is a powerful weapon, but consumes a lot of mana.
Zokathra spell. Together with THE GEM OF POWER gives you firestaff, a great weapon.
Magic footprints will show you where you have already been.

Magic vision will let you see through both walls and doors. It will give you an early warning of what treasures and dangers lie beyond. While the spell is active you can look through several walls by walking from one place to another.
This is actuallt not a spell, but a good advice: If someone of your party gets killed, put his bones in such resurrector.
Darkness will temporary dim the light from both light spells and torches.

Explanations:
To cast a spell, you first select the character, who will cast it. You do it by clicking on his/her name label. Then you select the strength level of a spell. The higher the level, the more mana a spell will consume. There is also a greater chance of misfiring. The next step is to dial the symbols so that they form a spell. When the spell is prepared, you cast it by clicking the symbols.

Hints! Prepare spells for each person, before entering a larger combat. Then, when in combat situation, select each charecter in a row and cast the spells.

The table is organized in the following fashion: Spells are divided between three levels. To execute a first-level spell, simply dial stength and one of the four valid spell symbols from the first table (you can also dial 911).
Casting a second level, find the spell you wish to cast, then dial strength and the corresponding spell symbol from the first row, and then from the first colomn to the left.
Casting third-level spells is a bit more complex. The procedure is as follows: Find the desired spell, dial strength, and a spell symbol from the first or the last row. Then dial the symbol from the upper left corner of the major row. And at last dial the symbol from the minor row to which the spell belongs.
